Every once in a while you just crank out an idea that’s itching your brain, that was the case with this little sketch.

It’s a throw away, but a beautiful one.

It was inspired by our acquisition of Hyper-shot and 30 free minutes. My aim? To capture the feeling of a catholic mass in a solitary object. The detailing is inspired by incense burners and the gesture is meant to be anatomical; conveying the slender stance of  Don Quixote.

With a few more minutes to kill, I played with the form to create a companion for this piece.

WHY I LIKE IT:
Sometimes we just need to explore and express. This study may have been done as a cast off idea, but the form still holds it’s own and the gesture still captivates me.
