In 1999 fresh off my Fulbright experience in Milan I started making plans to exhibit at the 2000 Salone Del Mobile. There was just one problem: I had no idea what to exhibit and I had no money.
Over several weeks I started reaching out to friends and contacts in the San Francisco design community. Little by little we assembled a core team of designers from many of the best studios in town. Our intention? To explore how objects, even the most mundane ones, can excite our sensibilities and engage us to reflect on culture and society.
From our first outing in 2000 to our final event in 2003, the four year journey offered a great format to explore the power of design. I hope you enjoy this selection of images from a few of our installations.
