In 2009 HP approached TEAGUE with a strange proposition: help us design a printer for the living room. The brief was so unusual you just knew it was going to be one hell of a ride. Having witness a decline in sales of home printers HP was on the offensive trying to boldly re-imagine a category that hadn’t seen many new ideas. Working closely with HP engineers and a truly great client (Ryan Wilday) TEAGUE and HP brought enthusiasm to what might have been a DOA program.
The HP ENVY came to market in 2011 and won a fair amount of attention. Suffice it to say, the big battle in design is genuinely caring an awful lot about what you are doing and having a great client.
WHY I LIKE IT:
The design was pretty simple and the client fought very hard to keep it that way.
