This project started from a conversation. In 2010 I was brought to a meeting with Boeing – a long time client of Teague. In the course of that meeting I was given an unexpected gift; an overview of Boeing history. Coming out of that meeting a conversation began to take shape around how to make the legacy of Bill Boeing, and the company he built, more accessible to employees.
In the course of this work we had access to a wide range of Boeing employees, historians, and archival material. It remains one of the greatest creative journey’s I’ve had the pleasure to undertake. The history is truly epic and the Boeing personnel where extremely generous with their time as well as their trust.
I can hardly do the sweep of that work justice with just a few graphic elements, but these images give you a taste.
WHY I LIKE IT:
Presenting Boeing’s rich history in a bold graphical treatment avoided the trap of nostalgia and made the content more relevant.
